Silence, Joy and Abundance

Today is silent day here at the quinta.  Every Friday we work in silence and have 4 meditations throughout the day and end in the evening with a conscious conversation group.  It is a full and glorious day, I looked around and my heart was so full that I am inspired to share it with you as it is occurring!

I just took a 10 min walk around the quinta.  All the photos in this blog were taken within those 10 minutes.  Silence permeates everything and equally as loud as the silence is the joy and harmony.  The harmony between all of us, between nature, the animals, the land, is everywhere as the web of life and the truth of union are tangible in every direction.

First I ran into Pete who is transforming the space next to our house into a tiered flower garden.

Right below Pete was Duarte.

Duarte and Candice have transformed this garden (Known as the Cynthia Rose Bampton Garden of Unlimited Possibilities – this is a long story that I will save for another time and btw my name isnt Cynthia “Rose”!”) over the last few days adding a terrace and taking out tons of stones…

Earlier I walked by and noticed that part of the wood that is holding the terrace up was broken.  I wanted to ask Duarte to fix it but we were in silence so what to do.  3 minutes later I turn and there he is, fixing the wood!

Hey where did he come from?

In between Pete and Duarte is Lola the kitten that is taking in a bit of sun.

Then the camilias which are bursting all over the place!

What an explosion!

These orange flowers are appearing around the house.  Laura is propagating them so stay tuned for more exploding orange everywhere!

Lots of work gets done on silent day including washing, and Mim put up a board on the end of the washing line for rugs.  Again synchronicity as I got the clean rugs out of the washer thinking I would have to hang them on the line (which might break!) and Mim had already been there and put up the new drying board!

I cleaned out the “mud room” and did phase 1 of creating “locker space” for everyone.  I say phase one because the roof is not quite waterproof yet and therein lies the reason for plastic “waterproof” lockers!  BTW the bottles are for grape juice!

Days ago this room was muddy and full of "stuff"

Adam was just around the corner in the big house workshop.  He is making a shelf for the kitchen so we have a bit more space to store plates, bowls and glasses.  With more events happening here it became clear that we needed more things but where to put them?  Adam, we need a shelf! And wallah Adam appears and a shelf in in process.

One day he is going to have a proper work bench!

Looking down I see Candice happily collecting donkey manure.  Candice is French and I have to say listening to Candice say “donkey poo poo” makes me laugh every time!

Donkey poo poo collection is actually quite meditative, you have to experience it to believe me!  And the chickens love it!  After collecting the manure its taken too the chickens who love to eat the fly larvae out of it.  After they are done it goes into a pile for use on the garden.  Its great that so many get so much out of donkey poo poo!

And of course on the other side eating away is the source of the donkey poo poo – Mingo and Nuno.

I caught Nina taking a snooze.

And then I caught Sam taking a snooze. I didnt catch Tux and Lucky but I am pretty sure they were somewhere taking snoozes…

The only person I didnt catch was Laura who has been busy cleaning the yurt making it ready for Ricardo and Teresa who are arriving tomorrow.

I was just about to take LOTS of photos of the beds that have just been completed and the camera ran out of batteries but here are a couple.

So this is it for now.  I hope you get a sense from this post how amazing it is to work and be!

Much love and happy Spring!
